I have included 2 of the most hard hitting exercises to get in shape that you can combine to take your basketball game to a whole new level. This workout is intense, effective, and will get you back into game shape in no time.
The combination of exercises that I am referring to are the single arm overhead snatch and squat jump combo. This combo integrates the necessary movements for you to develop a fit athletic body in order to perform on the court at the highest level. The overhead kettlebell snatch is a wonderful exercise that specifically targets superior core strength, hip power, and total athletic development by causing your body’s nervous system to react to the explosive nature of the lift. It is great for shoulder stability as well. The squat jumps are movement specific to the sport of basketball because there is obviously jumping in basketball. This particular exercise is also great for cardiovascular conditioning and further promoting your joint integrity in your hips, knees, and ankles.
To begin this combination make sure that you have the availability of a single kettlebell of moderately heavy resistance. Perform the overhead snatch for about 30 total reps (15 each arm). Once you complete the 30 single arm overhead snatches make sure to immediately transition into the the squat jumps. When performing the squat jumps make sure to utilize your arms to create additional momentum by engaging in a counter-movement arm swing. As you descend in the squat swing your arms back with your hips and when you extend your body in the jump be sure to bring your arms with you as you jump off of the ground and reach for the sky. Make sure to perform each squat jump in rapid succession. Try to perform at least 15 squat jumps in combination with the 30 snatches. This equals out to 45 repetitions of body blasting superior conditioning for basketball supremacy!
