Kettlebells aren’t just for men’s fitness ladies. Trust me, being a strength and conditioning specialist for more than 8 years now I can honestly say that the fittest women that I have ever worked with have had many encounters with the kettlebell!
One of the most basic strength endurance type lifts that can be performed with the kettlebell is the double arm kettlebell swing. This particular exercise integrates hundreds of muscles at one time and is fast to raise your level of perceived exertion quicker than probably anything that you have ever tried. This very action is what gets your body burning calories at rate that can almost be compared to a rocket engine!
Swinging the kettlebell involves many movements from your hips, thighs, hamstrings, hips, back, shoulders, and arms. The swing is performed by you snapping your hips back and forth by flexing and extending both your hips and knees in a constant fluent motion. This creates the necessary momentum for you to swing the cast iron cannonball back and forth from between your legs up to your chest level. Sounds like fun, right?
