How Kettlebell Training Can Help the Baseball Player Chase Down a Fly Ball!

It is no doubt that baseball is a sport that requires a lot of learned skill and hand to eye coordination. However, athleticism is the one skill that can help those serious baseball players separate themselves from everyone else! A terrific gauge of athleticism is speed and I am here to tell you my friend that kettlebell training is the friend you need to develop some blazing speed!

Kettlebell training for speed is not only a great way for a baseball player to perform better in the field, but it also assist you with your performance at the plate. For the sake of this article though I am addressing the performance necessary for baseball players on the defensive part of their game. Have you ever been in a situation in the field where you might have made a slight misjudgement on a fly ball or line drive play? Did this misjudgement cause you to miss the ball only by a few inches? If so then it probably allowed what should have been a single or an out to be turned into a double or triple. The fact is that all players have made misjudgements, but the key to minimizing the damage is making sure that you have enough speed and athleticism to make up for it.

Kettlebell training for baseball players is a great way to develop powerful explosive speed and athletic ability. By performing basic lifts such as the double-arm swings and overhead snatches players can develop tremendous core strength and power. These particular lifts integrate hundreds of muscles and further develop the posterior muscles which are essential for explosive athletic movements such as sprinting and jumping. The more of these traits a player works to develop then the sooner he can make up for lost time. This is essential in the game of baseball. It is the only sport where there can be a total lack of activity and then all of the sudden chaos can break out! When chaos hits you’ve got to be prepared. Kettlebell training is great for speed development and overall athletic performance. Don’t wait on your competition to do it! Take action now.
