In order to drastically improve your endurance performance you must include exercises that improve both muscular strength and endurance and I have included a single exercise here to help you achieve both! I am here to introduce you to the infamous single arm overhead kettlebell snatch. By now you may be familiar with kettlebells and know that they are ancient strength and conditioning devices that have been around for over three centuries. This device will certainly take your endurance performance to a whole new level.
The single arm overhead kettlebell snatch is an olympic style lift that is executed by vertically lifting the kettlebell from between your legs or from the ground to a held position over your head in a single movement. This is done by you having to implement a technique that is known as the hip snap. The hip snap is performed by you having to forcefully flex and then extend at both your hips and knees to generate the force to pull the kettlebell to a high position that is lateral to your head. Once you have the kettlebell at this high position that is lateral to your head then you must vertically “punch your palm” towards the sky to finish the lift.
By punching your palm you want to suck your shoulder into the socket and securely lock out your elbow to support the weight overhead. This exercise is great for cardiovascular endurance, core strength, hip power, explosiveness, and shoulder stability. Essentially there is no vital physical trait left undeveloped!
