For Your In Home Personal Training Routine!

In order for you to be truly committed to your fitness and strength training routine you need to be ready to train just about anywhere and at anytime!  If you like the comfort of your own home or yard then this is the right place for you! Keep reading if you are interested in learning how to upgrade your fitness program in a hurry with some very basic tactics.

Upgrade Your In Home Fitness And Strength Programs By Using These 3 Simple Tactics…

1. Use Your Own Body Resistance: Using your own body weight is a tremendously challenging and effective way to get a solid workout in at home. The great thing about body weight training is that it is totally free! There is no equipment, no membership, no drive to the gym, and no wait on any equipment because you are the equipment.  Body weight training is a sound solid and true method to develop a totally fit strong body.   You can execute many variations of strength training drills such as push ups, squats, and planks with your own body resistance.

You can also engage in more cardio related drills by including calisthenic type exercises into the mix such as burpees, high knees, and jumping jacks. These  exercises can be used to achieve a high level of cardio conditioning while getting you used to handling yourself the way your body is meant to be controlled and moved.  The benefit of strength can also be achieved with this type of training as well.

Finally, you can structure your body weight drills to be more athletically specific by engaging in plyometric drills which include more explosive and quicker muscular contractions such as squat jumps, bounds, and skips.  When these drills are performed properly you can quickly elevate both your personal level of conditioning, as well as, your speed and quickness!

2. Use Your Yard For Space: Using your yard is great for providing you with the open space that you would normally get with a gym. This is a great way to get your neighbors’ attention because you can do a lot in your yard.  As you know I personally love training with kettlebells. Kettlebells are great for outdoor training because you can play with them a great deal especially when you are trying to master something new. You can practice your juggling skills or you can drag those iron balls across the lawn to work on your leg strength. Either way it’s a great idea for utilizing your yard and a fantastic way to get to know your neighbors, especially if they are into fitness!

3. Infiltrate Your Garage For Equipment: Time and time again I hear people talk about saving money and they don’t get any quality strength training in because “they can’t afford a gym membership!” This is crap because if you have a garage or basement you may have the makings of one hell of an in home gym. Along with the body weight training and kettlebells you can utilize tools such as sledgehammers, tires, bags of fertilizer, and even a wheelbarrow.  You can flip the tire (as seen above), hit it with a sledgehammer, carry bags of fertilizer, throw the bags of fertilizer, and carry them all by running them across the yard in your wheelbarrow!

The possibilities are endless with your in home strength workouts. The great thing about structuring your in home or outdoor program like this is that you can train for an optimal functional style of fitness.  This isn’t only great for the” beach look,” but it will help you with your speed training, strength training, and overall conditioning for total athletic performance as well.
