So what is the Tough Mudder? Well, it's basically a hard ass adventure run that tests your physical and mental grit in every way possible! The Tough Mudder consists of 12 miles of misery that basically involves a battery of very innovative obstacle courses that are designed to make you want to quit, go home, and cry for mommy! The older I get the more I realize just how truly incredible the power of language can be. That's right, I said language. The ability of being able to communicate a message to one another is a very powerful and essential thing. I may be sounding like Captain Obvious (Using the Captain Obvious Reference again
)here, however even though we may be capable of communicating a message to one another sometimes the receiver of that message may not always interpret our message the way we intended it to be communicated. Let that sink in for a second. Hopefully you are interpreting this message the way I intended it to be. So where am I going with this? Just keep reading Grasshopper!

"My God given talent is my ability to stick with training longer than anybody else."-- Herschel Walker
The truth is that in order to succeed at any endeavor you've got to have faith in what you are doing. In terms of being either a great athlete or in super great shape you've got to believe in your strength training program, period. Without the belief in what you are doing you might as well be sitting on the couch eating twinkies while breathing louder than anybody in the room.

So today the keyword or word phrase is Functional Fitness. So what is functional fitness or functional training? Well even though this phrase gets thrown around in the fitness community more these days than Kim Kardashian's name does on the latest headlines of entertainment weekly the fact still remains that some so-called professionals miss the mark on it's meaning. By definition functional training involves training that mimics the demands of a given physical activity or individual need. This is where most folks don't realize that even though there may be a lack of resources it doesn't mean that it should be an excuse not to train.

Strength has many faces, even more than two! I love the villain Two-Face in the Batman comics (pictured above). I just thought it would be an eye catching and semi-pertinent photo for the post at hand. Nonetheless the faces I'm addressing aren't that of a hero and a villain, but that of the physical abilities that are associated with the human body. Strength is the focus of this episode my friend so keep reading and after you are finished share this with everyone you know or you'll see the darker side of me! I just wanted to throw that last statement in for effect. Anyways, enjoy.

I just felt like babbling about some random stuff today just to shake things up! The weather here in Georgia has sucked this week so I'm on the sunshine waiting list if you know what I mean. Nonetheless, I'm grateful for the opportunity to blast out this post on whatever idea happens to flow through my brain as I am hammering the keys on my Mac. I hope you will enjoy this, but even if you don't I will also be grateful if you told everyone you did anyway!
